LITHUANIAN ANIMATION

Although the roots of Lithuanian animation go deep, the industry’s rise is associated with the restoration of Lithuania’s independence and the emergence of the first animation studios.

After several decades, the industry is now well-developed. Recently, Lithuania’s animation industry has experienced remarkable growth, both in terms of projects under development and in production, as well as emerging talents. Animation studios implement both domestic projects and international co-productions, as well as working as service providers.

The Goat Luck-Bad Luck_02.jpg

Goat Luck - Bad Luck is based on the humorous folk tales of Lithuania’s pre-war Jewish community, famous for a wonderful human quality of seeing the positive, and playing down the horrible side of any circumstance. There lived in a small shtetl a tailor  and his big family, part of a hard- working community of tailors, shoe makers, poor musicians and great wise men. Who would have ever guessed how much happiness or distress in a household could be caused by a goat!

An animation film with encyclopaedically precise fantasies and fabled historical facts. For 200 years, the legend of Napoleon’s lost gold has haunted Lithuania. The Grande Armée, packed with silver and gold, was unable to pass the frozen Panerių mountain and the treasure was lost in a snowstorm. Sergeant Bourgogne describes everything in his memoirs...
